Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Professor Lothar Spree from Tongji University provided his studio to students and other young people interested presenting and discussing their art work.
The result where a surprising fresh mix of drawings, paintings, installations, photos and video art. One of the most interesting works came from a young electric engineer. His work brought up an interesting discourse of the young chinese society for the word ‘Harmony’, which he showed in combination with the animal Lama, which is in Chinese – Cao ni ma.

Review: An Intervention – Art Doesn’t Need White Walls!

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Past Sunday artists and galleries staged an unusual show at 120 Moganshan Lu. Konstantin Bayer initiated the 24 hour art project and invited galleries and artists from Shanghai to participate. ‘Moganshan – Re-Used’ was located right next to the gallery district M50. The area of 120 Moganshan Lu used to be a typical chinese neighborhood with small lane houses meandered in narrow alleys. Now it has been destroyed. Most residents left the place and a view relicts remain of the former inhabitants. A daily scene in Shanghai.

Anywhere Out of the world shanghai
Designer Ryoji Maeda will show for the first time his men’s collection in Shanghai. He developed at Issey Miyake textiles and materials, and established his own label ‘Anywhere Out of the World’ 1998 in Tokyo. His work is pretty ‘a la mode’ yet simple and good quality for long term use.
